Sarai Kale Khan: The Heart of Delhi's New Regional Transit Revolution

The Sarai Kale Khan Namo Bharat station, a major node in Delhi’s evolving transport infrastructure, is now ready for operations. Designed as a multimodal hub, the station will serve as the interchange point for three Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridors, including the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut line.

Trial runs have been successfully completed, and the state government is expected to announce the official opening date soon. “Final finishing work is underway,” confirmed an official from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC).

Engineered for seamless connectivity, the Namo Bharat station integrates with the Delhi Metro’s Pink Line, Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, Veer Haqeeqat Rai ISBT, and city bus services. A skywalk with travellators links the station to the metro and railway stations, ensuring smooth and safe transfers for passengers.

The facility is equipped with modern commuter-friendly features, including:

A 5.5-metre-wide car/taxi drop-off lane, A 7.5-metre-wide city bus drop-off lane, Parking for 275 cars and 900 two-wheelers, Dedicated pick-up zones, Six platforms, four tracks, and a 215-metre-long, 50-metre-wide terminal structure, 14 lifts, 18 escalators, and universal accessibility features

With its strategic location and comprehensive facilities, the Sarai Kale Khan station is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion, enhance commuter safety, and streamline regional connectivity across the NCR.
