Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has outlined its plans to expand the export of aircraft accessories and platform components, including those related to the Dornier Do-228, as part of its broader push to enhance India's aerospace footprint globally.
The company is actively collaborating with the Government of India to boost domestic capabilities in aircraft systems while pursuing new international markets. HAL’s export strategy encompasses comprehensive documentation, post-sales engineering support, and modification services, ensuring end-to-end solutions for global customers.
As part of its efforts to strengthen the domestic supply chain, HAL is also supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through structured handholding programs, enabling greater participation in the defence manufacturing sector.
Since the post-COVID-19 period, HAL has accelerated its indigenisation drive. A key milestone was achieved by the HAL Lucknow division with the successful development and indigenisation of a main fuel pump for fighter aircraft—an essential component powering some of the Indian Air Force’s frontline platforms. This has been hailed as a significant step in HAL’s journey toward self-reliance.
Through these initiatives, HAL continues to play a pivotal role in advancing India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem and positioning the country as a reliable partner in global aerospace supply chains.
