Rohtak's water infrastructure to get a ₹252 crore upgrade

Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta has announced the approval of three key drinking water projects worth ₹252 crore to enhance the water supply infrastructure in Rohtak, Haryana.

The initiatives include a ₹210 crore project to upgrade waterworks in Paharawar, Kanheli, Baliyana, Bohar, Sunaria Khurd, Sunaria Kalan, and Kheri Sadh, with direct linkage to the Jawaharlal Nehru Canal. A separate ₹16.35 crore project will replace aging and damaged pipelines, while a ₹26 crore project will establish a rising main from the Sonepat Road waterworks to the canal, along with the construction of an SS tank.

During inspections, DC Gupta visited residential colonies, tested household water quality, and gathered feedback from residents. He reviewed water infrastructure along Jhajjar Road, including storage tanks and purification systems, and conducted on-site water purity tests. Additionally, he assessed the 20 MLD sewage treatment plant at Kanheli village and the boosting station in the Sugar Mill area.

Officials assured that visible improvements in water supply and related infrastructure will be evident within a month.
