Ventive Hospitality—a hotel development and management company backed by Blackstone and the Panchshil Group—has announced a strategic partnership with Marriott International to develop six new hotels in India over the next five years. The upcoming properties, planned for Varanasi, Mundra, Pune, and Navi Mumbai, will collectively add around 1,600 rooms to Marriott’s rapidly expanding portfolio in the country.
Marriott currently operates 142 hotels with over 25,500 rooms in India, including 16 ITC Hotels under its distribution system. The company has previously outlined ambitions to grow its Indian footprint to 50,000 rooms within five years.
Of the six new properties, two will be directly owned by Ventive—a 161-room hotel in Varanasi and a 200-room hotel in Gujarat’s Mundra. The remaining four, comprising one JW Marriott and three Moxy-branded hotels in Pune and Navi Mumbai, will be developed by the Panchshil Group on leased land. Ventive will retain the option to acquire these assets under a pre-agreed commercial arrangement.
Listed in December 2024, Ventive Hospitality currently owns 11 hotels across India and the Maldives. The company aims to double its portfolio to 4,000 rooms in the next five years, supported by an investment of ₹2,500 crore, including future acquisitions.
