Telangana 2.0: Ring Roads Coming to Major District HQs

A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to prepare plans for ring roads around major district headquarters in Telangana to improve the movement of goods and heavy vehicles.

The directive was issued during a review meeting of the Roads and Buildings Department held in Hyderabad on March 11, 2026. The Chief Minister also instructed officials to conduct a study on linking these proposed ring roads with national highways to help ease traffic congestion and improve intercity connectivity.

The meeting reviewed several infrastructure initiatives across the state, including the road network expansion, procurement of electric vehicles (EVs) for official use, land allotment for a modern bus terminal near the proposed high-speed rail corridor, and the construction of teaching and major hospitals.

Reddy emphasised the need for comprehensive road development aligned with the state’s Road Sector Policy 2047. Officials were also directed to prioritise connecting roads to reduce urban traffic congestion and ensure smoother movement across the state.

The Chief Minister further stressed the timely completion of key road infrastructure projects, including flyovers and underpasses, to strengthen Telangana’s overall transport network.
