Lonza Group AG, a global contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO), has announced plans to establish a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad.
A delegation from the Switzerland-headquartered company met D. Sridhar Babu, Minister for Industries, along with Shakthi M. Nagappan, CEO of Telangana Lifesciences, to formally convey the decision to set up the new GCC in the city.
Founded in 1897 and headquartered in Switzerland, Lonza operates more than 30 sites globally and employs nearly 20,000 professionals. In 2025, the company reported sales of CHF 6.5 billion and a Core EBITDA of CHF 2.1 billion.
The proposed GCC is expected to further strengthen Hyderabad’s position as a major life sciences and pharmaceutical hub, while also supporting Lonza’s global operations and innovation capabilities.
