GRSE & Kalyani: A New Titan in Indigenous Maritime Defense

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Kalyani Strategic Systems (KSSL) to jointly develop indigenous solutions for advanced naval systems, unmanned platforms, and strategic maritime technologies.

The partnership will encompass a broad spectrum of maritime and defence capabilities, including ship propulsion and mechanical systems for naval and commercial vessels, integrated platform management systems, and cutting-edge unmanned platforms such as unmanned surface vessels (USVs) and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). It also aims to explore opportunities in both domestic and international markets.

The MoU was formalized by senior officials from both companies, including Cdr Shantanu Bose from GRSE and Cmde Ajay Sharma from KSSL. This collaboration merges GRSE’s shipbuilding and maritime engineering expertise with KSSL’s advanced defence capabilities, furthering India’s vision of Atmanirbharta by fostering indigenous technology development and strategic cooperation in the defence and maritime sectors.
