The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is actively upgrading road infrastructure in the Pir Panjal region of Rajouri district, with a focus on key areas such as Kotranka, Samote, and Budhal.
The project aims to improve regional connectivity and ease travel for residents, particularly in market zones that frequently face infrastructure challenges. BRO Engineer Sanjay Sharma noted that waterlogging caused by clogged drains is a major issue in these areas. To mitigate this, the BRO is laying concrete pavements to ensure better drainage and durability.
The initiative is expected to reduce road damage, lower maintenance costs, and provide long-term benefits to daily commuters, traders, and local businesses.
