Royal Orchid Hotels is set to significantly expand its footprint, with plans to triple its portfolio to over 300 hotels and 20,000 rooms over the next five years. "We currently operate 115 hotels and have added 14 in the past year," said Chairman and Managing Director Chander K. Baljee. He added that 30 more properties are expected to be added within the next 18 months.
The company currently manages around 7,000 rooms, with an additional 2,000+ rooms already signed. "By next year, we aim to have 10,000 rooms in operation, with a long-term target of over 20,000 rooms," Baljee stated. To support this expansion, Royal Orchid plans to more than double its workforce from 9,000 to 20,000 employees.
As part of a refreshed brand architecture, the group is launching Iconiqa, a new luxury brand focused on five-star properties. Additionally, it is entering the budget segment with Regenta Z, aimed at Gen Z travelers and operated on a franchise model. The company’s existing brand portfolio includes Hotel Royal Orchid, Royal Orchid Central, Regenta, Regenta Place, and the boutique-focused Crestoria.
Baljee noted that the brand revamp was driven by extensive customer feedback, with the goal of catering to a broader and more diverse set of travelers across market segments.
