Remal Alcast has commissioned a new integrated aluminium billet casthouse under the brand name “Remal” at Vile Bhagad in Maharashtra, marking a significant addition to India’s aluminium manufacturing landscape.
Backed by the Star Group, the facility is focused on quality, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing capabilities. Developed in collaboration with Almex (USA) and Swastik Furnaces (India), the plant incorporates proven casting technologies to ensure high reliability, metallurgical purity, and precision in billet production.
In its first phase, the casthouse has already supplied 2,300 tonnes of primary remelt, homogenised aluminium billets. Phase II, scheduled for completion by April 2026, will scale up output to 4,500 tonnes per month and introduce customised alloy development capabilities.
By November 2026, the facility plans to integrate renewable energy sources and advanced scrap-sorting systems to produce low-carbon aluminium billets, positioning Remal among India’s early adopters of sustainable billet manufacturing. The project represents an investment of USD 50 million and will reach a final capacity of 7,800 tonnes per month.
