The Maharashtra State Cabinet Infrastructure Committee, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has approved the construction of two new elevated corridors under Pune Metro Phase 2.
The approved routes include the Hadapsar–Loni Kalbhor corridor (11.35 km) and the Hadapsar Bus Depot–Saswad Road corridor (5.57 km), featuring a total of 14 stations. The combined project cost is estimated at ₹5,704 crore. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar described the approval as a key milestone in accelerating long-pending infrastructure projects in the Pune region.
The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (Maha-Metro) will execute the project in collaboration with the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), while the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will oversee land acquisition, estimated at ₹3.6 crore.
Funding for the project will be sourced through a blended model, with 20% each contributed by the state and central governments, and the remaining share financed through loans. The proposal is currently awaiting approval from the central government before the commencement of implementation.
