NTPC Green Energy Ltd. (NGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC, has commenced commercial operations of an additional 64.7 MW of solar capacity at its 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Gujarat. The new capacity became operational on June 30 and marks the third phase of commissioning under the CPSU Scheme Phase-II, Tranche-III.
This follows earlier additions of 110.25 MW on June 6 and 146.7 MW on June 28. The entire Khavda-I project is being developed by NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd., a subsidiary of NGEL.
The CPSU scheme is designed to promote domestic solar manufacturing and strengthen India’s clean energy self-reliance. NGEL’s progress under the scheme underscores NTPC’s broader commitment to sustainability and supports its target of achieving 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032.
