Konsari: The Heart of Vidarbha's New Industrial Age

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will lay the foundation stone of Lloyds Metals & Energy’s (LMEL) 4.5-million tonne per annum (TPA) integrated steel plant at Konsari in Gadchiroli on July 22.

According to the company, this is the first integrated steel project in the Vidarbha region, marking a significant step in local industrial development. In addition, CM Fadnavis will inaugurate LMEL’s five MTPA iron ore grinding plant at Hedri in Gadchiroli district. The grinding plant has been constructed in a record time of just one year, showcasing LMEL’s execution capabilities.

LMEL’s Managing Director B Prabhakaran stated, “Not only the foundation stone for Vidarbha’s first integrated steel plant is being laid at Konsari in Gadchiroli district, but also a step is being taken towards seeing the historic dream turning into a reality.”

As part of the same event, a 10 MTPA capacity slurry pipeline project will also be inaugurated. This project is Maharashtra’s first operational iron ore slurry pipeline and is expected to enhance the efficiency of raw material transportation, further supporting the region’s steel production ecosystem.
