IHCL and Ambuja Neotia Ink ₹2,500 Cr Deal for 15 Hotels Across Scenic India

Indian Hotels Company Ltd. (IHCL), the hospitality arm of the Tata Group and parent company of Taj Hotels, has expanded its partnership with Kolkata-based Ambuja Neotia Group to develop 15 new hotels across Eastern and Northern India.

The upcoming projects, spread across West Bengal, Sikkim, and Himachal Pradesh, are slated for completion over the next three to seven years. The Ambuja Neotia Group will invest approximately ₹2,500 crore in these developments, funded through a combination of debt, internal accruals, and potential future fundraising.

The hotel pipeline will include a mix of greenfield, brownfield, and conversion projects. Notable developments include Taj-branded villas in Darjeeling, Sikkim, Lataguri, and Raichak, along with a Taj resort in Sunderbans, Darjeeling, Shimla, and Rabong. Additional properties under the SeleQtions and Tree of Life brands are planned in Kolkata, Siliguri, and Lataguri. Four of these hotels are already under construction and are expected to open within the next three years.

“This capital-light partnership expands our relationship to over 40 hotels,” said Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of IHCL. The collaboration is part of IHCL’s broader goal to double its portfolio to more than 700 hotels by 2030.
