High Five: Hyatt Sets Sights on 5x Growth in India by 2031

Hyatt Hotels Corporation plans to expand its presence in India five-fold over the next five years, supported by strong growth in domestic travel and rising consumer spending, according to its top leadership.

Addressing the HOPE conference in Goa, President and CEO Mark S. Hoplamazian said the company’s expansion strategy aligns with the rapid evolution of India’s hospitality landscape. He noted that, given the sector’s growth trajectory, the company expects its hotel count in India to increase five times over the next five years, reflecting market demand and long-term opportunity.

The outlook comes amid an aggressive push by global hospitality brands to scale up operations in India, as the sector witnesses a sustained post-pandemic revival in leisure and business travel, particularly among affluent domestic consumers.
