Dolvi Drives JSW Steel's Ambitious ₹20,000 Crore Expansion Plan

JSW Steel has announced a capital expenditure of ₹20,000 crore for FY26, with a significant portion dedicated to expanding its Dolvi plant in Maharashtra. The company aims to increase the plant’s capacity from 10 million tonnes to 15 million tonnes by September 2027.

“Our focus remains on growth projects,” said CEO Jayant Acharya, noting that the remaining capex will be directed toward developments at Bhushan Power, JVML, and various downstream initiatives. This planned investment marks a 19% increase over the ₹16,752 crore spent in FY25.

As part of its long-term strategy, JSW Steel is targeting an annual production capacity of 50 million tonnes by 2030–31, with up to 42 million tonnes expected from brownfield expansions by 2027.

In addition to Dolvi, the company is also building a 13.2 million tonne greenfield facility at Paradip, Odisha. Recently, JSW acquired Saffron Resources for ₹679.34 crore, securing 887 acres of land in Odisha to support its future expansion plans.
