Dixon & Chongqing Yuhai: Powering India's Electronics Revolution

On 15 July 2025, Dixon Technologies (India) announced a strategic joint venture with Chongqing Yuhai Precision Manufacturing, a Chinese electronics components firm, to manufacture and supply high-precision electronic components in India.

The joint venture will focus on components used in laptops, smartphones, and other electronic devices, further strengthening India’s domestic electronics manufacturing ecosystem. In a regulatory filing, Dixon confirmed the signing of a binding term sheet with Chongqing Yuhai, stating:

“This collaboration will bolster domestic capabilities for high-precision electronic parts and support India’s growing electronics supply chain.”

The partnership aligns with Dixon’s participation in the Government of India’s ₹22,919 crore Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme, which aims to reduce import dependency and promote local production under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

By enabling local production of critical components, the joint venture is expected to:

Enhance supply chain resilience, Create employment opportunities, Strengthen Dixon’s position as a leading electronic manufacturing services (EMS) provider

The move also reflects Dixon’s broader strategy to increase its technological depth and global competitiveness in the electronics manufacturing sector.
