The long-pending Uppal–Narapally elevated corridor is now on track for completion by Dasara 2026, as confirmed by Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy during a site inspection on July 15, 2025.
The six-lane flyover, stretching over six kilometers, was initiated nearly eight years ago and is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion between Uppal Ring Road and Narapally. Once completed, it will become the second-longest flyover in Hyderabad, after the 11.6-km PV Narasimha Rao Expressway.
A senior Roads & Buildings Department official stated, “We are hopeful of completing the works by mid-2026.” The project, fully funded by the Central government, is designed to accommodate travel speeds of up to 100 kmph, potentially reducing commute time by 25 minutes for motorists.
Out of 143 planned pillars, segmentation work on 38 has been completed, while the remaining 104 are under active development. Concrete segment placements have now commenced simultaneously from both the Uppal and Narapally ends to accelerate progress.
The Minister emphasized timely completion, instructing officials to fast-track execution to meet the Dasara deadline, bringing long-awaited relief to daily commuters in the eastern corridor of the city.
