Andhra Pradesh Roads & Buildings Minister BC Janardhan Reddy has announced that ₹1,430 crore will be required to reconstruct 352 damaged or aging bridges across the state. The funding is proposed under the 16th Finance Commission, and the move comes in response to concerns raised by several MLAs during the recent Assembly session.
Highlighting the state government’s proactive approach, the Minister noted that the new NDA administration has already spent ₹1,080 crore on pothole repairs within a short span after taking office. Rebuilding the bridges is now being treated as a top infrastructure priority, aimed at enhancing road safety and ensuring better connectivity for citizens across urban and rural areas.
The initiative underscores the government’s focus on accelerating infrastructure development and resolving long-standing public grievances related to transportation and road safety.
