Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd. (RRVL) has announced the acquisition of Kelvinator, the iconic home appliances brand, in a strategic move to strengthen its footprint in India’s fast-growing consumer durables market. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Kelvinator, globally renowned for pioneering electric refrigeration and known in India as a trusted household brand, brings with it over a century of legacy in quality and innovation. The acquisition aligns with Reliance Retail’s broader strategy to expand its offerings in the home appliances segment, capitalising on its extensive retail footprint of over 19,340 stores and growing digital presence.

Reliance Retail currently operates across diverse verticals including grocery, electronics, fashion, lifestyle, and pharmaceuticals, and partners with over three million merchants through its New Commerce initiative. With this acquisition, the company is poised to accelerate its entry into the premium home appliances space, leveraging Kelvinator’s strong brand recall and consumer trust.
