Ludhiana Textile Company to Build ₹2,500 Crore Plant in Mandsaur

A Ludhiana-based textile company has acquired 25 hectares of land in the upcoming Basai industrial area in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, with plans to invest Rs 2,500 crore in establishing an advanced, integrated textile manufacturing unit.

The Basai industrial area spans 178.83 hectares and is being developed at a cost of approximately Rs 89 crore. It is projected to attract over Rs 5,000 crore in total investments and generate employment for around 8,000 people. “We have allotted 25 hectares to a Ludhiana-based textile company for this Rs 2,500 crore investment,” confirmed Rajesh Rathod, Executive Director of the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC), Ujjain region.

In recent months, textile businesses from Punjab and Rajasthan have shown interest in setting up operations in Mandsaur and Neemuch districts. Several players from the garment, ethanol, and food processing sectors have conducted site visits, though formal land allotments are still pending.

Development work at the Basai industrial area is expected to begin in Q2 of the current financial year. Additionally, a new multi-product industrial area is being developed at Chitakheda in Neemuch district.

Industry stakeholders have emphasized the need for robust infrastructure—including reliable transport connectivity, uninterrupted power and water supply, and adequate police presence—to ensure long-term viability and safety in these industrial zones.
