Bihar's Rs 767 Crore Boost to Patna's Infrastructure

On August 11, 2025, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated six major infrastructure projects worth Rs 766.73 crore aimed at significantly improving road connectivity and easing traffic congestion in western Patna.

These projects, previously announced during the CM’s Pragati Yatra, include four roadworks, one flyover, and an underground drain-cum-road. Foundation stones were laid at three key locations: the AIIMS roundabout in Patna, near the Kathwan Rupaspur canal, and at Nehru Path beneath Patli Road.

Major components of the initiative include:

Widening of the 10.5 km AIIMS–Janipur–Painapur Nev Road – Rs 138.50 crore, Construction of the Naubatpur Flyover – Rs 73.06 crore, Development of a 6.9 km four-lane link road to Khagaul–Nehru Path – Rs 71.48 crore, Construction of a Danapur Link Road – Rs 148.86 crore, Largest investment: Rs 318.51 crore for an underground drainage-cum-road from Rupaspur canal to Saguna Mor, Widening of Nehru Path–Gola Road – Rs 21.35 crore

Chief Minister Kumar highlighted the importance of these projects in decongesting major traffic corridors and supporting the region’s economic development. The inauguration events were attended by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, MLC Rabindra Kumar Singh, and senior state officials.
