Saatvik Solar Industries (SSIPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gurugram-based Saatvik Green Energy Limited (SGEL), held a groundbreaking ceremony on June 5, 2025, for its new 4 GW solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing facility in Odisha.
The plant will be developed on a 57-acre site sub-leased from Tata Steel SEZ, strategically located along National Highway 16 in the Gopalpur Industrial Park, Ganjam district. This project forms a core component of SGEL’s broader expansion strategy, which includes the establishment of a 4.80 GW integrated solar cell and a 4.00 GW module manufacturing facility, targeted for completion by FY27 and FY26, respectively.
In addition to the Odisha plant, SGEL is also setting up a 1 GW module manufacturing line in Ambala, slated for commissioning by Q1 of FY26. Upon completion of these projects, SGEL’s total manufacturing capacity will reach 4.80 GW for solar cells and 8.80 GW for modules, spanning its Ambala and Odisha sites.
“Our focus is on staying at the forefront of solar energy production,” said SGEL CEO Prashant Mathur. “This expansion marks a significant step in our commitment to supporting India's renewable energy goals and advancing the Make-in-India initiative.”
