NTPC Ltd. has commenced commercial power supply from the final 52 MW phase of its 245 MW solar PV capacity at Plot-3 of the Nokh Solar Project in Rajasthan, marking the full operationalisation of the unit. As per a regulatory filing, this second and final part-capacity was declared commercially operational at 00:00 hours on 22 June 2025.
The first phase, comprising 193 MW, was commissioned earlier on 09 June 2025. With the commissioning of the full 245 MW capacity at Plot-3, NTPC has successfully completed one-third of the broader NTPC Nokh Solar PV Project (3 x 245 MW)—a significant step in the company’s renewable energy expansion.
As a result, NTPC’s standalone commercial capacity has now reached 60,318 MW, while its total group commercial capacity has increased to 81,420 MW, further solidifying its position as India’s largest power utility.
The commissioning of this solar project reflects NTPC’s strategic commitment to clean energy transition, contributing to India’s renewable energy targets, grid decarbonisation, and the delivery of sustainable, solar-based electricity to meet the country’s growing power demand.
