South East Central Railway (SECR) has invited tenders for the upgradation of the electric traction system in the Bilaspur Division of Chhattisgarh.
The project involves the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning work to convert the existing 1x25 kV electric traction system into a more efficient 2x25 kV system. The upgrade will be carried out along two critical railway routes:
Champa to Raigarh: 81 route kilometers (Rkm) / 324 track kilometers (Tkm)
Champa to Gevra Road: 46 Rkm / 92 Tkm
Total coverage: 127 Rkm and 416 Tkm
Valued at approximately Rs 154.55 crore, the contract aims to improve traction efficiency, increase line capacity, and minimize energy losses.
