Telangana Taps Out Water Challenge: 100% Rural Coverage!

Telangana is among 11 States and Union Territories to achieve full tap water connectivity for all rural households under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), according to the Ministry of Jal Shakti (MoJS).

Along with Telangana, states and UTs such as Goa, Haryana, Puducherry, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, and Arunachal Pradesh have successfully ensured clean tap water access to every rural home.

As of 22 October 2025, over 15.72 crore rural households across India now enjoy tap water at home, marking a major milestone toward universal water security.

The Central government has played a key role by allocating and efficiently utilising Rs 2,08,652 crore under the mission to support infrastructure development and ensure sustained water supply.
