Finance Ministers Inaugurate SPMCIL's State-of-the-Art HQ

Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman, along with Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary, inaugurated the new corporate headquarters of the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India (SPMCIL) at the World Trade Centre, Nauroji Nagar, New Delhi. The event was attended by Officer on Special Duty (DEA) Anuradha Thakur, senior officials from the Finance Ministry, SPMCIL Board members, and representatives from employee unions.

In her keynote address, Smt. Sitharaman lauded SPMCIL for this key milestone, noting that the new office is expected to reduce lease costs and enhance administrative efficiency, coordination, and employee engagement.

She also acknowledged SPMCIL’s wide-ranging and vital production portfolio—including currency notes, coins, passport paper, postal items, and commemorative coins—which serve as hallmarks of Brand India. The Minister further highlighted the corporation’s contribution in manufacturing prestigious national honours like the Bharat Ratna medallions.
