Global logistics leader DHL Express has expanded its operations at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), Bengaluru, with an investment of approximately ₹35 crore. The expansion adds 17,900 square feet of operational space, increasing DHL’s total footprint at the airport to 130,000 square feet. The enhanced capacity includes a new, purpose-built service center within the AISATS Bengaluru Logistics Park.
“Nearly 31% of our total shipment volume in India flows through Bengaluru,” said R.S. Subramanian, Senior Vice President, South Asia, DHL Express. He emphasized the strategic importance of Bengaluru as a gateway hub not only for the city but for the broader South India region, including Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Mysuru, Kochi, and parts of Chennai. This reach is enabled by DHL’s dedicated freighter network operating through the Bengaluru gateway.
Describing Bengaluru as DHL’s "South catchment hub," Subramanian noted that the expanded facility will significantly enhance shipment processing speed and throughput capacity, enabling DHL Express to efficiently handle both existing volumes and future growth.
