Kerala Clears Path for ₹8,707 Crore Thiruvananthapuram Airport Upgrade

The ₹8,707 crore expansion of Thiruvananthapuram International Airport has cleared a key regulatory hurdle, with Kerala's SEAC recommending integrated Environmental and Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearances for Terminal 2. Final approval from the SEIAA remains pending. The ambitious project scales the airport's capacity to 27 million passengers annually, encompassing comprehensive upgrades to terminal buildings, airside infrastructure, baggage systems, and MEP works. This environmental milestone paves the way for upcoming EPC contracting, procurement, and specialized infrastructure opportunities once final statutory approvals are secured.
