In a significant milestone for Bihar’s infrastructure development, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has inaugurated the much-anticipated six-lane Kacchi Dargah–Bidupur Bridge in Patna. The 9.76-km-long bridge, spanning the Ganga River, connects Kacchi Dargah in Patna with Bidupur in Vaishali district, integrating National Highways 31 and 322.
This marks the completion of the first phase of a project initially envisioned in 2015, aimed at improving direct connectivity to underdeveloped areas such as Diyara Jalla. The bridge is expected to significantly reduce travel time, improve regional accessibility, and decongest the Mahatma Gandhi Setu.
The bridge is projected to be fully operational by July 2025.
In addition, the state government has proposed a new bridge between Arrah and Chhapra, further expanding Bihar’s highway network and boosting regional connectivity.
