Hero MotoCorp has planned capital expenditure of ₹1,500 crore for FY27 to significantly expand its scooter manufacturing capacity, according to CEO Harshavardhan Chitale.
The country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer is accelerating investments under a broader capacity expansion programme, driven by strong market demand for several of its scooter models.
Speaking to analysts, Chitale said the majority of the planned capex will be used to enhance scooter production capabilities. He noted that Hero MotoCorp is investing heavily in capacity expansion and intends to double production capacity for certain scooter models that are witnessing robust demand.
In addition, the company has committed more than ₹700 crore toward establishing a global parts centre in South India to strengthen its supply chain network and support international operations.
