Western Odisha has emerged as a key engine of growth, moving beyond its status as merely a “next frontier,” said Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at the 25th edition of Enterprise Odisha 2026 in Rourkela.
Addressing industrialists from Raipur, Ranchi, and Rourkela, the Chief Minister highlighted the region’s rising industrial importance. The event saw the inauguration and grounding of projects worth Rs 8,884 crore, generating 6,832 new jobs. Additionally, investment intentions worth Rs 52,026 crore were secured, promising 20,427 more employment opportunities. Eleven industrial projects valued at Rs 5,708 crore were inaugurated, creating 4,183 jobs, while nine other projects worth Rs 3,176 crore were grounded, providing 2,649 jobs.
The event was attended by key dignitaries, including Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, IAS officer Hemant Sharma, and industry leaders from Tata Steel, JSW, Vedanta, and SAIL. With over 500 participants, Enterprise Odisha 2026 marked a significant milestone in the industrial development of Western Odisha.
