Flowing Forward: Expanding the Vav–Tharad Pipeline Network

The Narmada Water Resources, Water Supply & Kalpsar Department has invited bids for an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract to strengthen water distribution infrastructure by connecting remaining ponds under multiple pipeline networks in Tharad Taluka, located in the Vav–Tharad region of Gujarat.

The project involves establishing connectivity for remaining ponds under the Deodar–Lakhani Pipeline Project, Tharad–Dhanera Pipeline Project, and the Tharad–Sipu Pipeline System. The scope of work includes the construction and execution of pipeline links required to facilitate the transfer of water from pumping stations to designated end points and intermediate distribution locations.

In addition to pipeline construction, the project will integrate existing systems to support the filling of lakes and ponds based on local water demand and resource management requirements. The selected contractor will be responsible for ensuring efficient water distribution, operational reliability, and seamless integration of the interconnected pipeline network.

The initiative is aimed at improving water availability in rural and semi-arid areas by optimizing the use of existing pipeline infrastructure and enhancing local water storage through systematic pond and lake replenishment. The contract includes a 12-month construction period, followed by three years of operation and maintenance, including the defect liability period.

The deadline for submission of bids is June 29, 2026.
