Revanth Reddy Takes Charge of Kaleshwaram Repairs

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy reviewed the condition of the Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages under the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) and directed officials to prepare comprehensive repair and restoration plans.

The Chief Minister stressed the need for accountability from the contracting agencies responsible for the damages and instructed that they be actively involved in the repair works. The Sundilla barrage will undergo repairs based on a revised, cost-effective plan, aligned with the Tummidihatti project, which is designed to supply water to the Sripada Yellampalli project. Officials were also directed to prepare a plan to divert 80 TMC ft. of water from Tummidihatti to Sundilla.

Additionally, the Chief Minister instructed that plans be formulated to ensure irrigation and drinking water supply to the erstwhile Adilabad district. A follow-up review meeting is scheduled for the second week of November to evaluate project reports and determine the next course of action.
