Shyam Metalics Expands: RIL Heats Up 0.45 MTPA Blast Furnace

Ramsarup Industries Limited (RIL), a subsidiary of Shyam Metalics, is set to commission a state-of-the-art blast furnace and linear sinter plant as part of its efforts to enhance steel production capacity.

The blast furnace, with a capacity of 0.45 MTPA, will be heated today and is expected to begin commercial production by November 2025. The linear sinter plant will also commence operations by the third week of November 2025. Both projects form part of a ₹369 crore investment aimed at meeting the rising demand for high-quality steel products across diverse industries.

Equipped with modern coal injection technology, energy recovery systems, and an eco-friendly design, the new blast furnace underscores RIL’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Commenting on the development, Brij Bhushan Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of Shyam Metalics, said, “This strategic expansion marks a significant leap towards operational excellence and sustainability in steel manufacturing.”
