During Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s official visit to the United Kingdom, a high-level Tamil Nadu delegation secured major investment commitments totaling Rs 12,300 crore in London. Focused on advanced manufacturing, electrical equipment, and Global Capability Centres (GCCs), the agreements are projected to generate approximately 10,000 high-value jobs across the state.
Key highlights include a massive Rs 11,000 crore MoU signed by Samvardhana Motherson International (along with its UK and European joint-venture partners) to bolster the state's automotive and advanced engineering ecosystem. Additionally, Ernst & Young (EY) partnered to establish a GCC for a UK-headquartered telecom major, while Sweden's Sigma Technology Group committed to expanding its regional footprint in digitalisation and embedded systems.
