A New Era for Ladakh: ₹3,350 Cr Boost for Airport, Roads & Energy

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually dedicated five landmark development projects worth ~₹3,350 crore to Ladakh on October 15, 2026.

The headline project is the new ₹640 crore passenger terminal at Leh’s Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport—a 23,800 sq. meter, three-level modern facility equipped to handle 35 lakh passengers every year. Alongside airport modernization, these initiatives boost road connectivity, clean energy, heritage conservation, and water security, empowering local communities and accelerating sustainable economic growth across Ladakh.
