Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to lay the foundation stone for the upcoming International Film City in Sector-21, along the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida, during the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony scheduled for today. The ambitious project is being led by Bayview Bhutani Film City—a joint venture between veteran filmmaker Boney Kapoor and the Bhutani Group—in collaboration with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).
The event will be attended by prominent Bollywood personalities and members of the Bhutani family. Following the resolution of key regulatory requirements—including a 15% green cover mandate, structural safety clearances, and necessary NOCs—YEIDA has given the green light for the 80-acre industrial component of the project.
Planned across 1,000 acres and to be developed in four phases over eight years, the Film City aims to position Greater Noida as a premier media and entertainment hub. The first phase, with an estimated investment ranging from ₹900 crore to ₹1,510 crore, will cover around 230 acres and include critical filmmaking infrastructure such as 13–14 sound stages, a film and television institute, permanent outdoor sets, an underwater shooting studio, actor accommodations, a convention centre, and a film museum.
Officials anticipate the project could generate up to five lakh employment opportunities, significantly boosting the local economy and creative industry.
