UST, a US-based technology solutions provider, has partnered with Kaynes Semicon—the semiconductor division of Kaynes Technology India—to set up a ₹3,330 crore Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility in Sanand, Gujarat.
This strategic joint venture aligns with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, aiming to strengthen domestic capabilities in semiconductor assembly and testing. The facility will cater to a wide range of sectors, including electronics, electric vehicles, renewable energy, and consumer technology.
Under the collaboration, UST will bring its global semiconductor client network, along with expertise in AI-powered digital engineering and process optimization. Kaynes Semicon, in turn, will contribute its manufacturing capabilities and sector-specific experience.
Commenting on the partnership, Kaynes Semicon CEO Raghu Panicker and Kaynes Technology Vice Chairman Ramesh Kannan highlighted the venture’s importance to India’s semiconductor mission, positioning the country as a competitive player in the global semiconductor supply chain.
The project marks a major step toward creating a self-reliant ecosystem for advanced chip packaging and testing, reinforcing India’s ambition to emerge as a semiconductor manufacturing hub.
