River Mobility Gears Up for 2 New E-Scooters After $120M Funding

Electric two-wheeler maker River Mobility is planning to expand its product lineup with two new electric scooters as it looks to strengthen its position in India’s growing EV market.

The Bengaluru-based company is expected to launch the first model by mid-2027, with both scooters aimed at its utility-oriented lifestyle segment while catering to different price points. The product expansion comes after River raised USD 120 million in a Series C funding round, which will be used to support product development, manufacturing expansion and the company’s retail network.

River also plans to develop a new greenfield manufacturing facility over the next 45 to 60 days. The facility is expected to have seven to eight times the capacity of its existing Bengaluru plant, which currently has a production capacity of around 10,000 units per month and is nearing full utilisation. The company also plans to expand its retail presence to approximately 200 stores across India.

Co-Founder and CEO Aravind Mani said the company would begin work on the new factory within the next 45 to 60 days, with the facility planned to significantly increase its manufacturing capacity.
