UPSIDA & CEL: Building Smarter, Greener Industrial Hubs

The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) and Central Electronics Limited (CEL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaboratively develop smart, sustainable industrial infrastructure across the state.

The agreement was formalised by UPSIDA CEO Mayur Maheshwari and CEL CMD Chetan Prakash Jain, marking a strategic partnership focused on integrating renewable energy, smart technologies, and sustainable mobility solutions within industrial areas.

Under the collaboration, the two entities will work together to deploy:

Rooftop and ground-mounted solar plants, Solar-powered street lighting, Hybrid energy systems and energy storage technologies, Smart surveillance, access control, and public address systems, Centralised monitoring dashboards for real-time oversight

Industrial zones will also be enhanced with smart city features such as Wi-Fi zones, IoT-based asset tracking, and data analytics platforms to ensure efficient management and greater transparency.

The MoU includes a strong focus on sustainable mobility, with plans to set up EV charging stations powered by renewable energy sources. Additional initiatives include the development of green buildings, water conservation systems, and the modernisation of civil, mechanical, and electrical infrastructure.

CEL will provide end-to-end support including consultancy services, feasibility studies, investment facilitation, and policy advisory. The partnership will also include capacity-building programs and workshops to promote best practices among industries, stakeholders, and ecosystem partners.
