Hyundai Motor Company and TVS Motor Company have entered into a joint development agreement (JDA) to co-develop and commercialise electric three-wheeler (E3W) solutions tailored to India’s last-mile mobility needs.
The collaboration builds on the unveiling of an E3W concept at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 and represents a significant step toward advancing sustainable urban transport. Under the agreement, Hyundai Motor will lead vehicle design and overall development, drawing on its global R&D strengths, advanced mobility technologies, and human-centric design philosophy to create safer, more efficient solutions for India’s cities.
TVS Motor will co-develop the E3W platform using its proven electric vehicle architecture, deep expertise in three-wheeler engineering, and strong understanding of the domestic market. The company will also oversee local sales and utilise its manufacturing capabilities in India to serve domestic demand while exploring export opportunities.
Together, the two companies aim to deliver a purpose-built electric mobility solution suited to Indian road conditions and urban infrastructure, reinforcing their shared commitment to clean mobility and improving access to efficient last-mile transportation across the country.
