Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre has expanded its footprint beyond Mumbai with the launch of a new multispeciality hospital in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
The upcoming facility, being developed with an investment of around Rs 700 crore, will have a total capacity of 375 beds and will be built in three phases. In the initial phase, approximately 120 beds are expected to become operational, along with outpatient department (OPD) services that currently include five consultation rooms and a nursing room. Additional clinical services will be introduced progressively as the hospital moves toward full capacity.
Located in GIFT City, the hospital is strategically positioned to serve the growing residential and professional population in one of India’s प्रमुख smart financial hubs. It will provide a comprehensive range of tertiary care and multispeciality services, aimed at enhancing healthcare access in the region. As part of its advanced care capabilities, the facility plans to introduce robotic surgery across key specialties such as cardiology, neurology, and orthopaedics from the early stages.
Commenting on the expansion, Prashant Mehta, Permanent Trustee of Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre and Director of Lilavati Foundation, stated that this marks the institution’s first hospital outside Mumbai and that the 375-bed facility will become operational in a phased manner.
