TMC & GE HealthCare: Innovating Cancer Care

Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) has entered into a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) with GE HealthCare Technologies to establish a Cancer Research & Innovation Centre at TMC Mumbai. This collaboration brings together GE HealthCare as the technology partner and TMC as the clinical oncology partner, with a shared mission to advance precision-driven, AI-enabled cancer care solutions.

The partnership is focused on tackling critical challenges in cancer care—particularly early detection, equitable access, and preventive strategies. Dr. C.S. Pramesh, Director of Tata Memorial Hospital, emphasized the initiative's potential: “Through this collaboration with GE HealthCare, we aim to boost clinical research and foster academic engagement to reshape personalised cancer care for better patient outcomes.”

The new centre will drive innovation in key areas such as AI-powered imaging, streamlined clinical workflows, and enterprise-level health informatics, all aimed at supporting personalised and data-driven cancer treatment. Chaitanya Sarawate, President and CEO of GE HealthCare South Asia, added: “By focusing on oncology, we reaffirm our commitment to deliver integrated solutions that span the entire cancer care continuum—from discovery to diagnosis to treatment—leveraging advanced imaging and AI-led technologies.”
