Buxar Goes Big: The ₹1,700 Crore Industrial Launch

Samrat Choudhary on February 28, 2026, inaugurated two major industrial projects in Buxar district—a Coca-Cola bottling facility and a cement manufacturing unit by JK Cement—set up with a combined investment of around ₹1,700 crore.

Describing the projects as a major impetus to Bihar’s industrial expansion and job creation, he said they are aligned with the state’s broader objective of generating large-scale employment opportunities. The ₹500 crore JK Cement plant, located in the Brahmapur Industrial Area and spread over 100 acres, has an annual production capacity of three million tonnes. Previously, supplies were sourced from Prayagraj, but the new local facility is expected to lower logistics costs and ensure timely availability of quality cement.

The ₹1,200 crore Coca-Cola bottling plant, established by franchisee SLMG Beverages Pvt. Ltd. in Nawanagar across 65 acres, has a production capacity of 3.24 lakh cases per day. The unit features wastewater treatment systems, PET recycling initiatives, and has allocated 40 percent of its campus to green zones, reinforcing its focus on sustainable industrial development.

Choudhary noted that the projects will generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs while strengthening the local economy. He added that the state government aims to create 10 million jobs and employment opportunities over the next five years, with large industrial investments such as these playing a pivotal role in achieving that target.
