Texmaco Rail & Engineering, in collaboration with AMP Energy India, has successfully commissioned a 10 MW DC group captive solar power plant in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, marking a significant step in its transition to renewable energy.
Inaugurated on 17 July 2025, the plant forms part of Texmaco’s broader sustainability roadmap, aligned with national initiatives such as Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, Make in India, and India’s Net Zero 2070 commitment. The solar facility is projected to generate over 15 million units of clean energy annually, powering Texmaco’s Raipur operations and cutting carbon emissions by more than 12,000 tonnes per year—equivalent to planting 500,000 trees or taking 2,600 vehicles off the road.
Commissioned under the Group Captive Open Access Policy, the project is also expected to lower Texmaco’s power costs by 30–40%, underscoring both environmental and economic benefits.
