TEECL's $1 Billion Bet on India's Digital Infrastructure

Techno Electric & Engineering Company Ltd. (TEECL), a leading EPC service provider in India’s energy sector, has announced its entry into the digital infrastructure space through the launch of its wholly owned subsidiary, Techno Digital Infra Pvt Ltd. With a planned investment of $1 billion, Techno Digital aims to develop a nationwide network of hyperscale and edge data centers with a targeted cumulative capacity of 250 MW.

Building on TEECL’s deep expertise in power infrastructure and commitment to sustainability, Techno Digital will focus on creating an eco-friendly data center network to support India’s fast-growing data economy.

“This move is both timely and visionary,” said Padam Prakash Gupta, Managing Director of TEECL. “With our legacy in EPC and power, we’re well-positioned to help shape India’s digital future. Techno Digital is more than a business—it's a mission to bridge the digital divide and power a connected India.”

This bold initiative reflects a broader trend of energy sector companies entering the digital infrastructure arena, driven by surging data demand and national digitalization efforts. The sustainability-first approach also aligns with the global shift toward green data centers.
