Sringeri Secures $760 Crore Water Lifeline: Crisis End Nears

The Sringeri Assembly constituency—covering Sringeri, Koppa, Narasimharajapura, and Kandya hobli in Chikkamagaluru—is actively addressing a severe water crisis.

The state government has sanctioned substantial funding to resolve the issue. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), ₹60 crore has been allocated to improve drinking water supply across the three taluks. In addition, ₹700 crore has been approved for establishing a permanent water supply system drawing from the Bhadra and Tunga rivers. Sringeri MLA T.D. Rajegowda assured that these measures will eliminate drinking water shortages once completed.

He also highlighted ongoing development initiatives—including road upgrades and improvements to educational infrastructure—aimed at enhancing overall living standards in the region.
