SHAKTI Group of Companies has commissioned a 178-tonne-per-day (TPD) cryogenic air separation unit (ASU) at Karjan, Gujarat, marking a significant expansion of its industrial gas production capabilities.
Operated by Shaktishree Air, the facility will manufacture liquid oxygen (LOX), liquid nitrogen (LIN), and liquid argon (LAR), strengthening the company’s footprint in the industrial and medical gases sector while enhancing supply coverage across western India. The project represents SHAKTI’s entry into large-scale cryogenic liquid gas manufacturing and is designed to serve a broad spectrum of industries, including steel, pharmaceuticals, solar energy, engineering, infrastructure, and healthcare.
The gases produced at the facility are essential for a wide range of industrial applications, including welding, metal fabrication, pharmaceutical manufacturing, electronics production, and other advanced technology processes. The commissioning of the plant comes at a time of increasing demand for industrial gases, driven by growth in manufacturing, infrastructure development, healthcare services, and emerging technology sectors.
By establishing additional domestic production capacity, SHAKTI aims to improve supply reliability, reduce delivery lead times, and strengthen its ability to meet evolving customer requirements. The Karjan facility is expected to support regional industrial development by ensuring a stable supply of critical gases while further expanding the company’s distribution and service network.
