Senvion India's 4.2 MW Turbine: A Leap in Domestic Wind Energy

Senvion India is set to commission a 4.2 MW wind turbine in Tamil Nadu by June 2025, marking a significant upgrade from its earlier 2.7 MW and 3.1 MW models. Developed and manufactured locally using Indo-German technology, these high-capacity turbines signal a shift toward more powerful, homegrown renewable energy solutions.

With nearly 500 MW in orders already secured for the 4.2 MW variant, Senvion India is scaling up rapidly. The company has installed around 1 GW of wind capacity across India and aims to double that within the next 12 months to meet the nation’s growing clean energy demand.

Looking beyond domestic expansion, Senvion is preparing to enter international markets—starting with Europe—and is boosting its production capabilities at its Tiruchi facility in Tamil Nadu to support this global push.
